Hello everybody!
This week I am on a business trip - I took some black and white tiles and some pens with me, so I have the opportunity to draw the DIVA challenge in my hotel room.
MUNCHIN is the tangle of this week. I love this pattern and I tried to tangle my tile even if I do not have all my pencils here. I miss my white pencil to shade something...
But - everything is possible - also a tile without shading!
I tried to highlight some areas instead. I like the result and had much fun with it.
I love tangling in hotel rooms. At home, dishes in the sink, laundry to be done, a dog to be walked and/or a messy desk to be tidied make me feel guilty for tangling before tending to all the above, but if I'm in a hotel, I only feel maybe a little guilty if I should be out seeing the sights instead of sitting inside bent over a Zentangle tile. I was in Turkey for the Saint Patrick's Day Zentangle Diva's challenge which was to use green. Fortunately, by some miracle, I had brought a green micron pen with me. So, I had the chance to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, looking out over the Aegean Sea while tangling. I admit it felt like a "how cool is this?" moment. You clearly brought along the right tools to do an excellent job with today's challenge. Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteGood idea to take your tiles with you, I know business trips can be very hectic with little time to spare. Hopefully it gave you a calm time. Your tile is lovely, with the touch of colour.
ReplyDeleteLove your tile this week and totally understand how freeing it to not have all the "distractions of things that need to be done at home" and just be able to tangle!
ReplyDeleteDas glaube ich gerne, dass Dir dieses Kärtchen selbst gefällt, es ist Dir fantastisch gelungen und es geht wirklich auch mal sehr gut ohne Schattierungen. Toll!
ReplyDeleteSei lieb gegrüßt von Kerstin
A very lovely tile with some delightful pops of color.
ReplyDeleteQuite different from the entries I have seen and so original!!! I do like the colors.
ReplyDeleteNice choice, to highlight some areas instead of shading! It's a beautiful tile.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful, Simone!! Love the white and pink on the black - so beautiful!! Dancing all around :) :)

ReplyDeleteVery pretty with the added color. I like how you just used the white pen to add shading too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tile Simone! I love the design and the pink.
ReplyDeleteThis tile is just pure FUN! Love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Simone.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like your different "uses" of Munchin on this tile! It is a very nice choice for both the border and the star and the colour (although I must admit I'm not a fan of pink) is effectively applied to bring some life into the design.
ReplyDeleteVery nice composition - and what you did with the darker lines took away the need for shading.
ReplyDeleteYour lines are so clean. I really like the idea of white ink + another colour on a black tile. It's beautiful.
Tolle Kachel!
ReplyDeleteLiebe Grüße, Sandra
Like the added color. Munchin is one that can get away without too much shading because of the merging lines at the apex.
ReplyDeleteThe pink on the black tile is really stunning! I always love your use of color!
ReplyDeleteI love your tile! Using Munchin as a frame was something that I don't think I would have ever thought of. And I love the color on it...but then, I am partial to that particular color combo....right now I am wearing a pink t-shirt with black lettering and white shorts. Very stunning, to say the very least!
