Let me shortly introduce myself:
My name is Simone, I have been born in 1962 in Dresden, Germany.
I have been creative all my life, since childhood.
knitting, crochet, patchwork, sewing, drawing, painting .. I love them all and did it more or less intensive.
I am fascinated by paper in all varieties and colours bring me in a good mood.
By profession I am absolutely rational: I have studied Chemistery as a Msc and nowadays I am a Quality Manager in a subsidiary of a big German Group .
I have two children aged 25 and 21.
When they were small children I did not have much time for hobbies, but I tried to be a little bit creative to recreate and relax.
Several times I dealt with drawing of patterns, for instance celtic patterns and knots.
During a winter holiday we had a huge sheet of watercolour paper (100x60) on our dining table and our whole family drew patterns on it with black ink and pan tools.
Everyone drew his own created patterns and at the end of the time we had a wonderful picture.
Today I know: we created a "ZIA" (Zentangle Inspired Art) !! - for us it was big fun and fantastic experience to create something together.
Beginning 2015 while surfing in the internet I found by mistake the world of Zentangle. I was immediately fixed. Like I have been surching for that all the time!
From this time I experienced every day something new.
I bought some books, started the video workshop of Anya Lothrop and bought some fine materials.
It is absolutely true, that the spirit of Zentangle goes together with high quality materials. You do not need very much - but what you use should be high quality.
My daughter gave me this little suitcase - this is my drawing kit and I have much fun to use it daily.
Every week I try some new patterns.
I have experienced the "Muster Mixer" Challenge and the DIVA Challenge.
In March, 2015 I started to write this blog.
Update 05.01.2016:
Zentangle has become a part of my life one year ago. I can`t imagine to live without it!
My drawing case (see picture above) is too small for all the pencils now, but still in use. I have learned so much, I have lots of fun and I love it to have contact with people from all over the world.
In April, 2016, I will take part at the CZT Seminar #23. I will become a certified Zentangle Teacher in Providence - directly coached by Rick and Maria.
This is for me an outstanding event ant I am looking forward to it like a little child!! I am curious what the time will bring....
Hi Simone- I wanted to leave a comment on your Moebius post, but I couldn't figure out how to do it for some reason. Congratulations on your decision to participate in the CZT training in Providence in May. I think you will really enjoy it. It is very comfortable to be surrounded by 110 other people who are devoted to Zentangle and Zentangle Inspired Art. I hope you will also have time to do some traveling in the United States outside of Providence. Boston is not too far from there.
